Trails

The Macon-Bibb County Parks and Recration Department has numerous trails at various parks throughout the City and County with the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, www.ocmulgeeheritagetrail.com, being the largest. There is approximately 5 miles of the 7 miles of trail completed that goes from Central City Park to the Old Waterworks site at Pierce Avenue.  On the west side of the river the trail goes from the Ocmulgee National Monument up to Jackson Springs Park.  Other trails in the park system are located at Bloomfield Park, East Macon Park, Freedom Park, North Macon Park, Sarah Young Willis Park, and Central City Park.  There are various designed bicycle trials throughout the city that connect neighborhoods with downtown and places of interest and historic designation.  For further information on any of the departments trails system call 478-751-9286.
